The most important aspect of your choice of driving school is the driving instructor. Your driving instructor with us will be:-
Duncan Woods
Duncan is a fully qualified DSA approved driving instructor (ADI No. 431951). Many driving schools today use trainee driving instructors (PDI's) yet still charge full rates. Duncan passed all three of his ADI exams on his first attempt and achieved a 5 & 6 grading on his final instructor's exam (the highest grade available being 6 & 6).
Duncan has been driving for over 25 years and has gained a vast and varied wealth of experience driving in the UK and France. He has also been riding motorcycles since the age of 13 and believes that this discipline provides an unprecedented level of road awareness. In addition, Duncan is a fully qualified pilot with over 1,000 hours logged and has accumulated additional ratings over the years (including setting a Guinness World Record in 2003). At the weekends he can be found racing in his go kart or getting muddy on the 'Green Lanes' in his Buggy.
Duncan is also a Qualified Seat Young Driver Trainer. The SEAT Young Driver Training Scheme operates locally at Brent Cross shopping centre. The scheme is designed for children aged between 11 and 17 where they can learn to drive in a safe environment (www.youngdriver.eu).
In addition Duncan is a registered Pass Plus instructor able to offer this valuable post test qualification.
All this experience of operating a variety of vehicles in differing environments has taught Duncan structure and discipline in his approach. He has been on the receiving end of training for his activities himself and beleives he has an approach where students learn at a pace they can cope with whilst enjoying the learning process. He will adapt his teaching method to the individual needs of his students and is often complimented on his calm and patient personality.
Duncan is also a volunteer rider for SERV who deliver vital blood products to the Hospitals in Herts and Beds during the nights and weekends (visit www.servhertsbeds.org.uk).
